Anson Resources identifies potential for pumpless brine wells at Green River Lithium Project

Anson Resources Ltd (ASX:ASN) has completed a review of the Green River Lithium Project, confirming highly prospective geological features structurally similar to Anson’s flagship Paradox Lithium Project, also in Utah, US.

The company identified several salt-water geysers and springs within a 15-kilometre-wide by 16-kilometre-long geological feature known as the Ten Mile Graben at Green River.

Anson believes these features are indications of extensive fracturing and increase porosity of the host rock units.

These characteristics point to the potential for an artesian flow of brines from depth to surface with no need for pumping.

Robert’s rupture

Anson has drawn parallels between the Ten Mile Graben at Green River and the Robert’s Rupture formation at the Paradox Project, which has already demonstrated artesian flow of brine to surface.

Paradox is just 50 kilometres to the southeast of Green River, with access to the same clastic zones and units.

Anson says removing the need for mechanical pumping could deliver an overall positive ESG impact on the project while also lowering extraction costs.
