Antipa Minerals Ltd (ASX:AZY) has encountered high-grade gold at the Minyari North prospect and notable gold-copper mineralisation at greenfield discovery GEO-01, extending the mineralisation strike at Minyari Dome Project in WA's Paterson Province to 4.4 kilometres in length.
At Minyari North, the company intersected thick zones of Minyari-style alteration, brecciation, veining and gold-copper mineralisation across 300 metres of drilled strike, with key results including:
- 28.0 metres at 1.0 g/t gold from 239.0 metres, including 8.0 metres at 2.6 g/t from 239 metres and 1-metre at 15.8 g/t from 239 metres.
The mineralisation here is open in all directions and the company believes there may be potential for a maiden resource opportunity.
“These greenfield drilling results grow the Minyari Dome trend to 4.4 kilometres and give us strong reason to believe there is excellent potential to grow the near-surface, open-pit amenable, mineral resource this year,” Antipa Minerals managing director Roger Mason said.
“The Minyari Dome Project economics are hugely leveraged to future resource growth. As such, we are very pleased to have further expanded the pipeline of high-prospectivity gold-copper targets within 400 metres of the Minyari and WACA deposits.”
GEO-01 soil anomaly target
GEO-01 is 1.3 kilometres south of the main Minyari Dome deposit.
Here, the company hit very similar broad zones of mineralisation as at Minaryi North, with variable gold-copper mineralisation encountered under shallow cover. Results include:
- 20.0 metres at 0.51 g/t gold from 10 metres, including 4.0 metres at 1.46 g/t from 10 metres.
“At the nearby GEO-01 soil target, 100-metre spaced first-pass aircore drilling has identified a mineral system footprint similar in size to our flagship Minyari deposit,” Mason continued.
“Minyari North and GEO-01 are now our highest priority maiden resource opportunities, with other promising targets including Chicane and GP01 also planned to be drilled.”
Minyari Deeps plunge
Antipa also completed a deep-drilled diamond hole, penetrating more than 1,000 metres below the 'mine' host sequence and intersecting variable alterations and minor gold-copper mineralisation.
“Our detailed assessment of the Minyari Deeps plunge and Minyari North diamond drill holes, in conjunction with geophysical data, re-frames the Minyari Deeps plunge target to a shallower fault-offset position,” Mason explained.
“As a result, future drilling is set to test the plunge and dip extents of the shallower Minyari North mineralisation, which may extend further south toward Minyari, and potentially uncovering a shallower, related system.”

“We are planning to embark on a significant resource growth drilling program at Minyari Dome during CY2023,” Mason said.
“This program is currently under design and is set to run in parallel with the Minyari Dome PFS (pre-feasibility study) workstreams.”
The drilling program will likely include a reverse circulation (RC) component aimed at delivering multiple maiden resource estimates across the project, as well as follow-up RC and diamond drilling and possible aircore investigation of soil geochemical and geophysical targets.
