4:05pm: Burcon NutraScience, Sassy Gold shares add to gains late day
Adastra Holdings (CSE:XTRX) closed up 48% at $1.33, while Burcon NutraScience jumped 37% to $0.355, Sassy Gold finished 13% higher to $0.13, and Sintana Energy (TSX-V:SEI, OTC:ZDEXF) ended up 12% at $0.145.
11:55am: Adastra Holdings (CSE:XTRX), Burcon NutraScience shares advance sharply
Adastra Holdings (CSE:XTRX) shares surged 71% to $1.54 on Friday after the cannabis and related activities company announced that it has received approval from Health Canada on February 17, 2023, for its amendment to include cocaine as a substance that the company can legally possess, produce, sell and distribute.
As well, shares of Burcon NutraScience Corp (TSX:BU) gained 15% to $0.30 as the provider of technology for the development of plant-based proteins for foods and beverages said it intends to submit a formal proposal to acquire the business of Merit Functional Foods, believing it is in a unique position to bring the company's business to profitability.
Sassy Gold Corp (CSE:SASY, OTCQB:SSYRF), meanwhile, reported that it continues to expand the 4Amigos Vein along strike and to depth and has drilled into a new high-grade vein parallel to 4Amigos at the Westmore Gold Discovery, part of its 100%-owned Foremore Project in British Columbia. Sassy Gold stock moved up 9% to $0.125 following the announcement.

And, Sintana Energy (TSX-V:SEI, OTC:ZDEXF) Inc shares continued to move higher Friday, up 12% to $0.145 following an 8% gain on Thursday, after the petroleum and natural gas explorer/developer announced that Woodside Energy (GOM), Inc, has entered into an agreement whereby it has the option to acquire a 56% Participating Interest in Petroleum Exploration License 87 (PEL 87), in consideration for, among other things, paying the full cost for a 3D-seismic survey covering an area of at least 5,000 square kilometres within the area the subject of PEL 87 at an estimated cost of US$35 million.
Sintana noted it will retain a carried indirect interest in the license.
