Cordiant Digital Infrastructure Ltd (LSE:CORD) said Czech subsidiary CRA has signed a five-year agreement with blue chip pay-TV broadcaster AMC Networks (NASDAQ:AMCX) International, which runs AMC, Film+ and Sport1 channels.
The agreement, effective from 1 March 2023, allows AMC to broadcast channels that were, up to now, only available on subscription or over-the-top services.
Cordiant said this has only become possible due to CRA's recent upgrade to next-generation DVB-T2 technology.
Málnay Levente, executive vice-president and chief executive of AMC Networks (NASDAQ:AMCX), said: "The Czech market is key for us in the Central European region and therefore securing wider distribution for our station to an increased number of households is a strategic step.“
Miloš Mastník, CRA chief executive, added: "We are pleased to be adding a new channel to our digital terrestrial television broadcasting, 'Spektrum Home', which has until now been available only in pay-per-view distribution.”
