Capita PLC (LSE:CPI) saw its shares jump 10% in morning trade on Thursday after the outsourcing group reported a return to adjusted profit in 2022 and lauded its contract wins and order book.
The FTSE All Share-listed firm posted an adjusted pretax profit of £73.8mln for the year ended 31 December 2022 compared with a loss of £122.8mln a year earlier, while adjusted revenue was £2.846bn compared with £2.78bn in 2021.
The company said that it won £2.85bn worth of contracts during the year compared with £3.42bn in 2021, while its order book as of 31 December 2022 stood at £5.8bn.
In the results statement, Capita chief executive Jon Lewis said: "Amid a challenging macroeconomic environment, we believe we have a resilient business. We expect to continue to deliver improving financial performance, while providing excellent operational performance for our clients."
Around 9.20am in London, Capita shares were up 10.6% at 32.20p.
