ClearVue Technologies wins Hong Kong Government tender for solar glass study

ClearVue Technologies Ltd (ASX:CPV, OTCQB:CVUEF) has won a tender to complete a measurement and verification study (M&V) with the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department (EMSD) of the Government of Hong Kong, Special Administrative Region (SAR) of the People's Republic of China.

The paid study will involve installation and testing of five ClearVuePV® integrated glazing unit (IGU) panels for about 13.2 square metres of glazing at the EMSD’s headquarters in Kowloon, Hong Kong.

CPV will undertake a comprehensive assessment of the solar glass’s in-situ performance, testing optical properties, energy harvesting and energy efficiency effectiveness.

“Compelling energy efficiency solution”

“ClearVue is pleased to have been selected by the Hong Kong Government to complete this study on the role solar glazing can have in assisting the government of Hong Kong in achieving its decarbonization goals on the road to net-zero,” ClearVue Technologies executive chair Victor Rosenberg said.

“The selection of the ClearVue product by the EMSD for completing this study is testament to how the ClearVue product is now being seen globally – that is, as one of only a few commercially available glazing products that, in addition to offering power generation on-site, genuinely offers a compelling energy efficiency solution for advanced building envelope design.”

The completion of the study – which became effective on March 1, 2023 – will provide the necessary data to determine the suitability of CPV’s technology for use in future Hong Kong Government building projects.

Material terms for the M&V Study tender contract include:

  • A fixed fee of HK$383,000 (A$72,236);
  • The fee to be paid in tranches linked to completion of study phases; and
  • The study to run for 12 months.
