Latrobe is developing a 1,000 tonnes per annum plant to produce magnesium from the waste products of coal-fired power plants using a proprietary hydromet technology.
The initial focus is on waste from the Yallourn Power Station in the Latrobe Valley of Victoria's Gippsland region and the company has put in place plans to expand the plant to 10,000 tonnes.
