Twitter Inc (NYSE:TWTR) users were hit yet again by faults on the site on Wednesday morning, as issues persist at the social media company that has continuously shed staff in recent months.
Around 5,000 UK-based users reported issues with Twitter just before 11am, marking a drastic spike in outages, which had been largely unrecorded in the previous 24 hour said website Downdetector.

People were left unable to view tweets on their ‘for you’ feeds, a feature introduced in January, shortly after Elon Musk took charge, which recommends posts to users.

The new feature also failed in mid-February, when users found themselves constrained to viewing tweets posted by Musk himself, adding to a host of issues reported in February.
A rise in the number of problems on Twitter comes after a fresh round of cuts hit Twitter’s workforce this weekend, the fourth since Musk’s US$44bn October takeover.
Twitter’s workforce has dropped below 2,000 employees, CNBC estimates, from around 8,000 in October, spanning several departments, including its advertising, engineering and product teams most recently.
Musk previously told users to pause work on new products as the company's severely reduced workforce looked to solve issues on the site.
The Tesla Inc and SpaceX chief executive also told users last week that Twitter’s algorithm was set to be made public, opening the door for external coders to study and build on the site’s inner workings.
