Base Resources Limited (AIM:BSE, ASX:BSE) has appointed Sheila Khama as non-executive director, adding significant experience and expertise to the board.
Khama’s resume comprises more than 25 years of experience in natural resources sectors, including senior roles and/or directorships at the World Bank and African Development Bank, De Beers, Tullow Oil and NASDAQ-listed battery metals company, The Metals Company (NYSE:TMC) Inc.
“As well as a deep personal connection to Africa, Ms Khama brings a wealth of valuable experience and expertise in managing relations and working collaboratively with host governments and in the sustainable development of natural resources, all critical to Base Resources’ future growth and success,” Base Resources chair Michael Stirzaker said in a statement.
“The board and I are delighted that Ms Khama is joining us and we look forward to her contribution to the development of Base Resources.”
The appointment is effective from 1 March 2023.
