Global Health sets up cloud-based inpatient solution at new ‘boutique’ private hospital in western Sydney

Global Health Ltd (ASX:GLH) has deployed its MasterCare inpatient electronic medical record (EMR) software as a service (SaaS) solution at Australia’s newest private hospital, Matilda Nepean.

Matilda Nepean is a 90-bed sub-acute private hospital in a world-class medical hub in the western Sydney suburb of Kingswood.

The hospital, operated by Arcadia Health Care, is introducing a new generation of boutique, ‘hotel-style’ healthcare to the western Sydney region.

Starting from scratch

The MasterCare patient administration system (PAS) is already in use at Arcadia’s Pittwater acute facility, but this deployment coincides with the opening of the new facility, which means the hospital can augment its existing administration solution with clinical features in line with its digital requirements.

“It has been a fantastic experience working with Global Health to deliver the first implementation of their MasterCare Plus EMR solution to our 90-bed hospital Matilda Nepean,” Arcardia Health Care CEO Dr Harry Pannu said.

“The EMR is Australia’s answer to EMR adoption in the Australian Private Hospital market and we are proud to be collaborating on the design and delivery of a cutting-edge technology that will benefit private hospitals around the country.”

A range of features and functionality

The new platform enables Matilda Nepean to manage a range of integrated medical records, including:

  • patient medications;
  • observation charts and patient charts;
  • progress notes;
  • patient allergies;
  • handover notes;
  • patient assessment forms;
  • e-orders and e-results;
  • patient journey/bedboard; and
  • outcome measurement collection.

“We are excited to be working with Arcadia Health Care and delighted to be part of this next chapter in Matilda Nepean’s story,” MasterCare Matilda implementation project manager Kye Cherian said.

“The uptake of EMR systems is well underway in the public sector but funding limitations have caused delays for the private sector.

“With the latest implementation of our MasterCare offering, combined with the ongoing input from hospitals such as Matilda Nepean, we hope to establish a more affordable solution that will benefit the Australian hospital and healthcare sector as a whole.

“This is another key outcome from the strong sales pipeline in place and continues MasterCare’s growth trajectory in its key markets of Community Health and Hospital providers. MasterCare iEMR will be progressively rolled out to existing MasterCare PAS customers with potential new ARR in excess of $2 million over the next few years.”

With Matilda Nepean’s go-live now complete, a second implementation of MasterCare’s inpatient EMR at Arcadia's Pittwater private hospital is scheduled to be rolled out by June 30.

About Global Health

Global Health aims to provide integrated healthcare solutions to key growth corridors in regional areas across Australia, recognising the opportunity posed by the ongoing bombardment on community health resources caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, which placed a massive strain on regional health organisations.

Best known for its EMR solution, used widely across Australia’s community health network, the company's MasterCare inpatient EMR delivers a new-generation SaaS platform built on the principles of its predecessor.
