Boohoo Group PLC (AIM:BOO) is outperforming its online competitor ASOS PLC (LSE:ASC), according to recent industry data crunched by analysts at Jefferies.
The retail trends barometer run by the broker highlighted one observation that has become apparent through February, “is the outperformance in external data that Boohoo is enjoying versus ASOS.”
According to the numbers, Boohoo recorded a negative run-rate of 16% on the barometer in the final quarter of 2022, improving to -7% in January and flat by early February.
In comparison, ASOS has seen little change, running at -21% from October to December, -17% in January and -19% in early February.
The proprietary barometer is created using web traffic, app downloads, active app users, and search data, with sources including SimilarWeb, SensorTower, and GoogleTrends.
