Tencent, the Chinese tech and entertainment giant has joined forces with leading Web3 and blockchain providers at its first 'Web3 Build Day' summit held yesterday in Singapore.
During the summit, the company’s subsidiary signed a memorandum of cooperation with Ankr, a Web3 infrastructure provider, to jointly develop a series of blockchain API services.
This new blockchain API service suite will be deployed on Tencent Cloud's infrastructure and will provide reliable and efficient connections to most mainstream blockchains for projects such as Web3 games and Web3 social applications.
Tencent Cloud is also partnering with a few other popular Web3 infrastructure builders, including Avalanche, a blockchain that focuses on speed and low transaction fees; Scroll, a Layer 2 scaling solution for Ethereum; and Sui, a relatively young Layer 1 blockchain created by ex-Meta employees.
What’s more, the company also launched a new Tencent Cloud Metaverse-in-a-Box product during the event, providing developers with strong technical support and assistance for the Web3 industry.
Technical support for Web3
Tencent Cloud senior vice president Poshu Yeung was on hand to emphasise the company's readiness to provide strong technical support for Web3 through their years of experience in the game and audio and video fields.
He also noted that Tencent Cloud would be cooperating with industry partners to provide a more immersive experience and jointly cultivate a wonderful Web3 ecosystem.
Tencent Cloud will target Web3 developers and enterprises in different fields such as security, storage, identity management, middleware, development tools, data and analysis, through its Web3 Ecosystem Alliance, and use the ecosystems of Tencent and Tencent Cloud and resources.
Into the metaverse
Tencent’s ‘Metaverse-in-a-Box’ entails a comprehensive and easy-to-use one-stop solution that fully integrates a wide range of infrastructure, high-performance products, out-of-the-box SDK, and low-code solutions that can be widely used in games and media entertainment.
