Great Boulder Resources Ltd (ASX:GBR) has confirmed a large exploration target with anomalous gold and pathfinder elements from infill auger sampling north of the Ironbark prospect at the Side Well Gold Project in Western Australia.
Geochemistry results from the December sampling covering more than 5 kilometres of strike has confirmed two multi-point gold anomalies.
This discovery has now defined a hydrothermal gold system spanning 15 kilometres of strike at Side Well.

“The target is approximately 4 kilometres long and almost 2 kilometres wide, with broad zonation from bismuth copper-molybdenum in the east grading towards arsenic and silver in the west,” GBR managing director Andrew Paterson said.
“This represents a temperature gradient from hotter elements on the granite contact and cooler elements dropping out further west of the granite.”
Surface sampling
Also in December, GBR took additional rock chips from historical workings at the Saltbush prospect at Ironbark South for sampling, which returned gold in quartz veins assaying up to 14.85 g/t.
Saltbush is a walk-up drill target, with additional testing planned as soon as heritage surveys are completed.
“With our maiden resource of 518,000 ounce at Mulga Bill and Ironbark and multiple large-scale, high-priority drill targets, we now have a clear pathway to deliver on the million-ounce potential at Side Well,” Paterson said.
Work plan
GBR intends to start AC drill testing on the north and south targets as soon as heritage clearances are received.
In the meantime, the company is continuing extensional and infill drilling at Ironbark and Mulga Bill, with results from the latter’s campaign due in March.
Exploration around the Flagpole prospect at the southern end of the Mulga Bill corridor is also ongoing.
