Ithaca Energy and SThree poised for promotion to FTSE 250

Ithaca Energy and SThree PLC (LSE:STEM) are on course to be promoted to the FTSE 250 index in the next quarterly index reshuffle.

There is not likely to be any companies relegated from the FTSE 100, index organiser FTSE Russell said in a statement of indicative changes on Tuesday, meaning Mike Ashley's Frasers Group PLC (LSE:FRAS) is safe from the drop.

Dropping out of the FTSE 250 to make way for Ithaca and SThree are likely to be Moonpig Group PLC (LSE:MOON) and William Hill owner 888 Holdings PLC (LSE:888).

FTSE Russell said the likely changes were based on data as of Friday 17 February.

The actual reshuffle will be conducted using data as at market close on Tuesday 28 February, with confirmed rebalance changes to be announced after market close the following day.
