Aurion Resources (TSX-V:AU) revealed further promising results from the scout drilling program in the Kaares area at its wholly owned Risti property, located in the Central Lapland Greenstone Belt in northern Finland.
The Canadian exploration company, which is focused on its projects in Finland, shared robust results which included assays from the remaining intervals from previously announced hole KS22027.
Located at the eastern end of Vanha, hole KS22027 returned a continuous mineralized interval of 2.41 grams per ton (g/t) gold (Au) over 56.55 meters (m) from 95.75m, including 17.12 g/t Au, 0.55% copper (Cu) and 175 parts per million (ppm) cobalt (Co) over 5.90m from 95.75m, including 24.36 g/t Au and 0.75% Cu over 4m and 2.85 g/t Au over 7.45m from 138.90m.

Aurion reported that additional intervals included 1.43 g/t Au, 0.46% Cu and 175 ppm Co over 7.10m from 37.35m and 2.13 g/t Au over 2.75m from 207.80m.
In addition, multiple zones with elevated gold were encountered. One of the cobalt mineralized zones, returned 220 ppm Co over 29.70m from 29.10m, partly overlapping with gold and/or copper mineralized intervals. The entire hole is within altered and deformed mafic volcanic rocks with local graphitic sediments, said Aurion and the hole ended in mineralization.
Aurion highlighted additional Kaaresselkä gold intercepts as follows:
- Hole KS22029 returned 1.22 g/t Au over 19.90m from 92.50m and 2.27 g/t Au over 11.30m from 124.10 m;
- Elevated critical minerals, which included copper, cobalt, platinum and palladium were encountered;
- Elevated copper values, maximum 1.2% partly overlap with gold mineralized intervals;
- Hole KS22025 returned 0.31 g/t platinum/palladium (Pt/Pd) over 29.80m from 34.00m.
"The extended mineralized interval of 2.41 g/t Au over 56.55 m in drill hole KS22027 and other new gold intercepts provide favourable indications on the potential scale of the mineralized system in the Kaares area," Aurion CEO Matti Talikka said in a statement.
"In addition, the elevated levels of critical metals encountered, such as copper, cobalt, platinum and palladium, highlight the overall prospectivity of Aurion's vast properties in a greenstone belt with growing gold (Kittilä Mine, AgnicoEagle; Ikkari discovery, Rupert Resources) and base metal (Kevitsa Mine, Boliden; Sakatti discovery, Anglo American) inventories."
The Kaares area, includes the Kaaresselkä prospect and investors can read more about it and the accompanying drill hole descriptions here.
The company said it is planning for follow up drilling program.
Aurion is currently focused on exploring on its Risti and Launi projects in finland, as well as advancing its joint venture properties with B2Gold and Kinross in Finland.
