Aurrigo International inks autonomous vehicle tie-up with Singapore airport group

Aurrigo International PLC (AIM:AURR), an AIM-quoted transport tech firm, climbed in Tuesday’s early deals as it inked a formal agreement with Singapore’s Changi Airport Group.

The deal sets out terms for an ongoing partnership to jointly develop and test autonomous vehicles, the ‘Auto-Dolly’ and the ‘Auto-DollyTug’, along with an airport simulation software platform called ‘Auto-Sim’.

Through the multi-year partnership, the firm hopes to further develop its autonomous technology and create a showcase for other airport operators and stakeholders.

“We have worked closely with the team at Changi for several years and this partnership cements our collaboration to bring the best automated solutions to airlines and airports, enabling them to improve efficiency, safety and sustainability," Aurrigo chief executive David Keane said in a statement.

Poh Li San, a senior vice president at Changi Airport Group, added: "Similar to major airports throughout the world, recruiting enough ground handling personnel and drivers to support our growth is a challenge.

“We have been encouraged by Aurrigo's innovative autonomous technologies to help address these issues, and we're excited to partner Aurrigo in joint development and testing of these solutions."

The new agreement follows on from the partnership announced in October. The programme is partially funded by the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) and its Aviation Development Fund (ADF).

In London, Aurrigo shares were up 12.45p or 10.8%, changing hands at 127.45p each.
