The Royal Mint cast a spell and released a 50p coin featuring Professor Albus Dumbledore from the Harry Potter series.
The collectable coin, according to a statement, is the first 50p in The Royal Mint’s Harry Potter collection to feature King Charles III’s portrait on the head side of the coin.
Including Professor Dumbledore, there will be two coins which feature a character or place from the wizarding world which also depict King Charles III on the head's side.
The coin is the third in a series of four, with the two previous releases featuring Harry Potter and the Hogwarts Express.
The two older coins also depict the late Queen Elizabeth II, meaning the collection will be one of a small number that will see a change of portrait mid-series.
The Royal Mint said that this makes the series particularly rare and collectable.
“The 50p coin featuring Professor Albus Dumbledore marks this change of portrait, with His Majesty King Charles III’s official coin portrait now appearing for the first time in the series,” said Rebecca Morgan, director of collector services at The Royal Mint.
The collection is part of a wider Harry Potter series celebrating 25 years since the release of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone novel by J.K Rowling and published by Bloomsbury Publishing.
