Tempest Minerals increasing Yalgoo region landholding to more than 1,000 square kilometres with five new tenements

Tempest Minerals Ltd (ASX:TEM) is boosting its landholding in the Yalgoo region of Western Australia, moving to secure 195 square kilometres of tenure through three exploration licence applications, one prospecting licence application and one granted exploration licence.

The new tenements – which TEM considers highly prospective – adjoin existing projects in the area, extending three exploration fronts, Messenger, Euro and Meleya, and expanding the company’s holding to more than 1,000 square kilometres.

Granting of all four pending licences would place Tempest as the dominant regional explorer, holding some 25% of tenements in the area.

Exploration at Yalgoo

Three of the exploration leases further extend the flagship Meleya Project along geological strike to the southeast in the general direction in which TEM recently completed extensive fieldwork including multiple drill programs and large-scale soil sampling.

Tempest is actively exploring its Yalgoo assets, divided into four project areas within the Yalgoo Greenstone Belt, which holds several ‘world-class’ mines.

TEM is leveraging a data-driven approach to investigate unexplored but highly prospective geology in the region, with potential for gold, silver, copper, zinc and iron proven by producing mines nearby.

The company intends to complete the modelling of soil sample results from the Meleya Project this month, and is scheduled to attend the following conferences:

  • RIU Explorers Conference February 14-16;
  • PDAC Conference March 6-8; and
  • 121 Conference March 28-30.
