Nevada Silver Corporation (TSX-V:NSC) said its subsidiary North Star Manganese Inc has received all the necessary approvals to commence drilling at its Emily manganese project in Minnesota.
Nevada Silver said in a statement that Timberline Drilling has mobilized a drill rig to the site and drilling is expected to commence this month.
A total of 27 diamond core verification drill holes are planned to confirm manganese-iron mineralized drill intersections reported by other companies within the Emily project area and to extend the area of known mineralization.

The drilling will investigate extensions to the deposit and provide fresh samples for metallurgy and mineralogy studies, as well as material and data for groundwater, geotechnical, and processing investigations.
Nevada Silver noted that the project area has been previously drilled by Pickands Mather and US Steel in the 1950s and 1960s, and by Cooperative Mineral Resources in 2012 and 2013.
The project’s estimated indicated mineral resource of 5.68 million tonnes of 19.2% manganese and 23.02% iron and an inferred mineral resource estimate of 777,800 tonnes of 22.48% manganese and 22.15% iron were determined by Barr Engineering Company, it added.
Nevada Silver is a US-based mineral development company with manganese and silver projects geared to supporting the transition to clean energy.
