Kingston Resources kickstarts IP geophysics program in Mineral Hill’s southeast

Kingston Resources Ltd (ASX:KSN) has kicked off the 2023 exploration season with an induced polarisation (IP) geophysics program at its Mineral Hill targets in western New South Wales.

The campaign is underway southeast of the cornerstone Mineral Hill Mine, targeting an area with no existing IP chargeability data.

Mineralisation at Mineral Hill is directly associated with chargeability highs and changes in gravity response, and numerous targets have already been identified from existing gravity data.

As a result, any coincident IP anomalies identified during this survey will become high-priority drill targets.

More broadly, the IP program is just one tenet of Kingston’s broader mission: to grow the resource base and prove up the mining inventory at Mineral Hill.

Broadening knowledge base

Kingston Resources chief geologist Stuart Hayward said the team was excited about the potential for new discoveries at Mineral Hill.

“Gravity and IP surveys were conducted over existing mineralisation and correlation between those data sets gives us enormous confidence in our geology team’s ability to derive new insights and deliver high-quality results,” he explained.

“Our exploration team is looking forward to this next phase of the project as we seek to unlock even greater discovery potential at Mineral Hill.

Hayward also said that data from the IP field crew had so far proved invaluable.

“These types of data sets have the potential to massively increase our confidence when designing exploration drill holes,” he continued.

“We plan on doing further drilling in the near term and data such as this adds significant value and knowledge for us as we seek to expand resources at Mineral Hill.”
