Anson Resources hails successful direct lithium extraction tests at Paradox Lithium Project

Anson Resources Ltd (ASX:ASN) has successfully completed a direct lithium extraction (DLE) test work program on Mississippian brines from the Long Canyon Unit 2 and Cane Creek 32-1 wells at the Paradox Lithium Project in Utah, US.

The program used technology partner Sunresin’s DLE process, which produced positive results from both brine types in adsorption and desorption tests.

Results confirm suitability of resin

The program also confirmed the suitability of Sunresin’s resin product to selectively absorb lithium over other elements – including magnesium, potassium, and sodium – in the supersaturated brine samples.

The program was carried out by an independent laboratory in Salt Lake City, Utah, and completed using a small-scale DLE pilot plant.

Both the Long Canyon and Cane Creek brine samples demonstrated high extraction rates, with Long Canyon Unit 2 achieving 88% total efficiency and Cane Creek 32-1 achieving 92% efficiency.

Based on these positive results, Anson intends to begin the next phase of test work, designed to define the optimal extraction methodology for the Mississippian brines.

Anson is advancing the Paradox Lithium Project, most recently pursuing an exploration program dubbed the ‘Western Strategy’, targeting Paradox’s western tenement.

The company has produced a conceptual exploration target of between 2.1 and 2.56 billion tonnes of brine, grading between 108 and 200 parts per million (ppm) lithium and between 2,000 and 3,000 ppm bromine.
