QMines Ltd (ASX:QML) continues to demonstrate the breadth of the mineralised system at Mt Chalmers Copper and Gold Project in Queensland with solid copper results in step-out drilling extending mineralisation to the northwest.
Results of note from this round of drilling include:
- 12 metres at 3.03% copper equivalent from 158 metres;
- 14 metres at 0.75% copper equivalent from 83 metres; and
- 3 metres at 0.85% copper equivalent from 47 metres.
The company also completed a versatile time domain electromagnetic (VTEM) Max survey over the project, which is now being interpreted by the team’s geologists.
Larger than previously thought
“We are pleased to have intersected further mineralisation in the more distal parts of the resource, which shows the system to be larger than previously thought,” QMines managing director Andrew Sparke said.
“Results from the recently completed airborne EM survey are eagerly awaited and expected shortly.
“The ongoing campaign to identify resource extensions is continuing, along with drilling of satellite targets and our large geochemical and new geophysical anomalies.
“With no shortage of quality drilling targets, we look forward to a prosperous year ahead for our shareholders.”
From here the company intends to engage in updated metallurgical test work on the Mt Chalmers deposit, deliver a pit optimisation model for use in a pre-feasibility study, and integrate VTEM and electromagnetic data into a plan to drill test prospective regional targets.
