Sipa Resources confirms nickel potential at Skeleton Rocks Project in Western Australia

Sipa Resources Ltd (ASX:SRI) has leveraged a data review of historical surface sampling and drilling to confirm the potential for nickel mineralisation on the Skeleton Rocks Project in Western Australia, with nickel results grading up to 3 metres at 0.65%.

The company has identified several ‘look-alike’ magnetic anomalies along strike from these anomalous nickel results, which were found in reverse circulation (RC) drilling over a magnetic feature at the Jilbadgie nickel prospect.

This tenure is strategically located between two lithium projects: Great Eastern Highway and Mt Holland, which are being developed in a joint venture between Wesfarmers and Chilean mining major Sociedad Quimica y Minera de Chile S.A.

Several new opportunities for exploration

“Recent work at Skeleton Rocks has identified several new opportunities for discovery across the northern part of the project,” Sipa Resources managing director Pip Darvall said.

“A detailed review of historical work has confirmed the potential for nickel mineralisation beneath, and along strike from historical drilling.

“Together with the next round of sample results in connection with the lithium anomalism observed in our recent drill programs, we look forward to providing more updates as the Skeleton Rocks exploration programs advance.”

Sipa has also previously identified localised lithium-caesium-rubidium anomalism at Skeleton Rocks.

The company has collected samples across a broad area to submit for assay and intends to follow up historically logged pegmatites prospective for lithium in future drilling programs.
