Zytronic falls as supply chain woes continue to bite

Zytronic fell 19% after announcing it was purchasing goods at inflated prices due to ongoing supply issues

Touch screen maker Zytronic (AIM:ZYT) slumped 19% as the confirmed supply chain issues were continuing to affect operations this year.

Zytronic said it was being pushed to purchase materials at inflated prices due to a lack of availability, sending its share price sliding 29p to 121p.

Wage negotiations have started with staff, it added, with the upshot likely to be more cost pressure.

“These (supply issues), alongside inflation considerations, have the potential to negatively impact costs over the second half of the fiscal year,” the tech firm said.

Executive chairman Mark Cambridge is to split his role and become just chief executive again with Mark Butcher to take over as interim non-exec chair.

John Walter, the company’s largest individual shareholder, is to become a non-exec on a fixed contract, non-executive basis until next year’s AGM.
