Iris Energy Limited (NASDAQ:IREN) said it increased its total operating capacity by more than 15% to 1.7 EH/s in January, with a total miner capacity of 2.0 EH/s installed, in transit, or pending deployment.
In its monthly investor update, the company told shareholders that its strategic focus remains on expanding its self-mining capacity to 5.4 EH/s utilizing data center capacity that is available and/or under construction.
Iris said it mined 172 Bitcoin in January, up 40% from 123 Bitcoin mined in the previous month.

Operating revenue increased 66% month-over-month at US$3.5 million, up from US$2 million in December.
It achieved an operating hashrate of 1,575 PH/s, up 45% from 1,086 PH/s in December.
Further, Iris highlighted the addition of Cesilia Kim as its Chief Legal & Risk Officer and the retirement of its president Lindsay Ward during the month.
It also noted that it will be releasing its financial results for the second quarter ended December 31, 2022 on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, with a conference call to be hosted at 5pm Eastern Time.
