Predictive Discovery Ltd (ASX:PDI) continues to demonstrate the golden potential of the Bankan Project in Guinea with more successful infill drilling, unearthing large intersections of high-grade gold at the North-East Bankan (NEB) deposit.
“PDI’s aggressive infill drilling program continues to deliver outstanding wide and high-grade intercepts, particularly in the high-grade plunging shoot in the middle to lower parts of the optimised resource pit shell,” Predictive discovery managing director Andrew Pardey said.
“Our detailed understanding on the controls of NEB’s mineralisation is rapidly developing, which will allow us to start converting the existing inferred mineral resource to indicated.
Strong results
Best results from this round of resource definition drilling include:
- 38.2 metres at 5.26 g/t gold from 535 metres;
- 49 metres at 3.36 g/t from 194 metres;
- 37 metres at 4.41 g/t from 275 metres;
- 56 metres at 2.70 g/t from 138 metres;
- 39 metres at 3.36 g/t from 188 metres; and
- 62 metres at 1.31 g/t from 4 metres.
An additional hole, drilled outside the optimised pit shell design for the deposit, also returned a high-grade intercept of 13 metres at 5.91 g/t gold, with several more results from deeper holes still pending.

More drilling to come
“Further infill drilling and mineral resource conversion will remain key near-term focus areas to support PDI’s scoping study,” Pardey continued.
“Together with the ongoing environmental and social impact assessment, the scoping study will be important for future permitting discussions with the Guinean Government.”
PDI intends to produce a mineral resource estimate update for NEB in the near future, incorporating all data to date, including refinements of the geological model and a review of the mineral resource’s classification.
The Bankan Gold Project has an inferred mineral resource estimate of 79.5 million tonnes at 1.63 g/t for 4.2 million ounces at the NEB (3.9 million ounces) and BC (331,000 ounces) deposits.
“There is significant upside to the NEB mineral resource below the optimised resource pit shell, and it was pleasing to receive another high-grade intercept in this area,” Pardey said.
“Overall, our current drilling program is ahead of schedule due to recent strong performance and improved productivity by our drilling contractor.
“I am also delighted with initial progress made by our new regional exploration team, and look forward to activity ramping up in 2023 as we seek to prove up the enormous potential of the overall Bankan Gold Project.”
