SpectrumX strengthens technical team with key hire

Healthcare and pharmaceutical company, SpectrumX Holdings Ltd, has announced today the appointment of Emma McCance as a formulation chemist, strengthening the company's technical team as it works to bring its new cosmetics line to market.

McCance will report to Annaliese Waite, the technical manager, and will focus on developing and optimising product formulations, a crucial step in the development of the company's proprietary line of skincare products.

SpectrumX said the hire underlines its dedication to creating a strong in-house technical team.

It also adds to the knowledge of molecular compounds to develop the company's proprietary formulation of stabilised hypochlorous acid (HOCl) for skin care, which will form the basis of the cosmetics line, the company added.

HOCl has recently gained popularity as an ingredient in skincare products due to its gentle antimicrobial properties and its ability to promote wound healing and protect the skin barrier.

In her role, McCance will design and develop product formulations, ensuring performance, safety, and efficacy.

She will also source ingredients, create prototypes, and scale products for manufacture, all while ensuring that products meet the necessary regulatory requirements.

With more than six years of experience as a chemist, she brings a wealth of expertise in product development and quality control.

She joins SpectrumX from MPM Consumer Products, a manufacturer of household and personal care products, where she worked as a formulation chemist for cosmetics. She holds a BSc in chemistry from the University of Huddersfield.

"We are thrilled to welcome Emma, who will play a pivotal role in building the in-house expertise to innovate and develop our cosmetics line, which has the largest scope of product possibilities," said Damien Hancox, CEO of SpectrumX.

"Emma's experience in formulation and in-depth knowledge of molecular ingredient compatibility will be an asset as we create a line of products to cleanse, tone, and repair skin for future rollout across B2B and B2C markets."
