FTSE recovers losses with inflation on the wane - Market Report

The FTSE 100 has been recovering some of its recent losses this morning, with fresh ONS data suggesting that inflation continues to ease. Input prices for manufacturers were up 16.5% in the year to December, from 20.2% as recently as October.

Some light at the end of the tunnel over at collapsed EV battery firm Britishvolt as well this morning. Founder of Australian battery company Recharge Industries David Collard, has told the FT that he will tour the Britishvolt site in Northumberland this week with a view to making a dramatic late bid.

Low cost airline EasyJet have put out a trading update after the first quarter of its financial year that forecasts full-year profits ahead of City guidance, due to unexpectedly firm demand for flights.

Hundreds of Amazon’s UK workers are striking today, for the first time ever. The GMB says that it was pay that finally tipped the workers over the edge.
