Cloud DX (TSX-V:CDX, OTCQB:CDXFF), a provider of virtual care and remote patient monitoring solutions, revealed that it has signed a new contract with an Ontario family health center to bring remote patient monitoring (RPM) to palliative care patients in the community.
The North American disruptor in virtual care based in Kitchener, Ontario and Brooklyn, New York, said this is its second palliative contract in Ontario, and third in Canada, to feature the company’s Connected Health solution and Cloud DX (TSX-V:CDX, OTCQB:CDXFF) virtual care platform.
Cloud DX continues to showcase the benefits of remote care technology in care management by relying on monitoring and questionnaires linked to mental health, palliative, and pain management care programs.

In a new initiative, the Ontario health center, along with the support of county community paramedics, is launching a palliative care program to better support patients in the management of serious, chronic, or life-threatening diseases, said the company.
Cloud DX pointed out that the program is intended to help patients manage the symptoms of their illnesses, which may include “pain and discomfort, nausea, depression, anxiety, stress, and fatigue.”
The company's RPM solution, Connected Health lets patients record vitals such as blood pressure, heart rate, pulse oximetry, weight, and temperature, at home while their healthcare team monitors readings in near real-time.
Patients also respond to customized questionnaires designed to assess their symptoms and condition. Palliative care patients using Connected Health will have around-the-clock access to healthcare professionals, added the firm.
In a nutshell, palliative care is 1 of 12 uses for the Cloud DX Connected Health remote patient monitoring platform, which is deployed across Canada and the US for post-surgical monitoring, chronic care management, rehabilitation, neurological disorders, and mental health care.

Kaul noted that remote patient monitoring addresses “important challenges” in the palliative care specialty, namely the burden of access to care for patients with limited functionality. It also facilitates the prompt assessment and management of patients’ symptoms from the comfort of their homes.
Funding for the new palliative care program comes from Ontario Health, a government agency focused on building a modern, connected, and sustainable healthcare system.
