The FTSE 100 has been pretty steady just below all-time highs so far this morning, maintaining the gains recorded since the beginning of the year.
Ocado Group says its customers purchased fewer items in the run-up to Christmas, likely as a result of the cost-of-living crisis. Its average basket value fell by 1.3% in the quarter.
In small caps, London Southend airport operator Esken Ltd (LSE:ESKN, OTC:ESKNF) has agreed a deal with Easyjet for the discount airline to fly a new route from Southend to Amsterdam four days a week.
Vodka Revs operator the Revolution Bar Group has issued a profit warning and says it will be closing some locations on Mondays and Tuesdays up until early February, to try and cut down on its heating bills.
And finally hVIVO’s consultancy services division, Venn Life Sciences has signed a contract worth €3.2mln over two years with an unnamed “major global pharmaceutical client.”
