The UK inflation data will be the big macro news of the day, following on from November's consumer price index falling to 10.7% from 11.1%, but there is also a busy City calendar.
It will be another big day for the retailers, with Burberry, WH Smith and Currys all updating the market, with expectations based on sector peers that the general trend is not as bad as feared.
Over at Pearson, at least one analyst was predicting 2023 will be another year of strong growth, with the shares having been one of the (surprise) outperformers last year.
