Ondine Biomedical Inc (AIM:OBI) said a new research paper has highlighted how photodisinfection can eradicate biofilm bacteria associated with hip or knee replacements (periprosthetic joint infections or PJIs).

A study published in the journal Antibiotics made the conclusion from a study of antimicrobial photodisinfection therapy (aPDT) using Ondine Biomedical's photosensitizer in combination with a specific wavelength of light.

Contract research group hVIVO PLC said its consultancy services division, Venn Life Sciences, has signed a contract with an unnamed "major global pharmaceutical client" worth €3.2mln over two years.

The work will see the Venn team in Breda provide dedicated complex clinical pharmacokinetics (PK) consultancy and programming services to study the absorption, distribution and excretion of drugs within the body.

Technology Minerals has received a conversion notice from Macquarie Bank in relation to a tranche of its bond facility, resulting in 2.3mln new shares being issued at a price of 1.277430p per share. The converted bonds represent £30,000 of the first £500,000 tranche of bonds issued under a £4mln facility with Macquarie.

Roquefort Therapeutics has appointed BDO as its new auditor with immediate effect, replacing Jeffreys Henry LLP. The company previously, in December, gave investors notice that Jefferys Henry was resigning and noted that there were circumstances connected with their resignation which they considered should be brought to the attention of the company's members or creditors, in accordance with Section 519 of the Companies Act 2006.

Oxford Cannabinoid Technologies announced the appointment of Rob Bennett as general counsel and company secretary, after he was hired in December. "We are delighted to welcome Rob to OCTP,” said interim chief executive Clarissa Sowemimo-Coker. “His experience in the UK and internationally is hugely beneficial to us, as is his expertise in M&A. He is quickly becoming a valued member of our team."

The company also noted it will release its interim results on 23 January.

Braveheart Investment Group Plc told investors that chief executive Trevor Brown has bought 350,000 shares in the company in an on-market transaction at a price of 8p per share, increasing his shareholding to 13.19mln shares or 20.71% of the company.
