Nickel North Exploration uncovers high-grade nickel-copper sulfide mineralization at Hawk Ridge project

Nickel North Exploration Corp (TSX-V:NNX) told investors it had confirmed high-grade nickel-copper-cobalt-platinum group element (PGE) sulfide mineralization at four previously delineated targets at its Hawk Ridge project in Northern Quebec.

In all, 57 rock samples, including two from shallow backpack drilling were collected last summer.

The four zones tested were the Falco 7, the Hope Advance (HAN and HAM), the Gamma zone, and the Pio zone.

"2022 rock and backpack drilling program confirm the exploration model that the high-grade sulfide body was lens-like in form in all four zones," said Tony Guo, CEO of the company in a statement.

"Nickel North now is setting out to drill/test the scope and scale of these multiple high-grade "Raglan Type" Ni-Cu sulfide targets such as Gamma Zone and HAN Zone in 2023 while continuing to advance the other targets on its ~179km2, 50km long, 100% owned property in Northern Quebec," he added.

At the Falco zone, the nickel and copper grades are up to 0.29% and 0.83% respectively with cobalt and PGE credits.

At the HAN zone, a 500 metre (m) long and five to 20m wide high-grade massive sulfide Ni-Cu-Co-PGE mineralization was confirmed by two outcrop samples, which showed the nickel up to 1.85%, copper up to 1.72%, cobalt up to 0.13% and palladium up to 1.16 g/t.

At the Gamma zone, the company said two 2-metre (m) backpack drilling holes were reported at 3.12% nickel, 4.63% copper, 0.14% cobalt and 0.88 grams per ton (g/t) palladium and 0.35% nickel, and 0.92% copper respectively.

Finally, at the Pio Zone (the only historical mined area) at Hawk Ridge, there were historical ore piles in the area. Outcrop samples from here confirmed mineralization could be extended to both the south and north. The nickel and copper grades were up to 0.76% and 5.37% respectively with cobalt and PGE credits, said the company.

Nickel North is a Canada-based explorer focused on defining a Cu-Ni-Co-PGE resource at its Hawk Ridge project in Northern Quebec.

The property comprises a 50 kilometre (km) long belt of strong magmatic Cu-Ni-Co-PGE occurrences covering 179.67 square kilometres (sq km).
