Gold Basin Resources Corporation (TSX-V:GXX) has announced that Colin Smith has been appointed as CEO of the company, effective immediately.
Smith is a registered professional geologist in British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Nunavut, and the Northwest Territories with over 17 years of experience advancing exploration and mining projects in North and South America, ranging from early-stage project generation and exploration to M&A takeover, Gold Basin noted in a statement.
Gold Basin president Charles Straw said the company was fortunate to have secured a person with Smith’s experience, leadership, and technical capabilities.

“His appointment as CEO adds another highly skilled industry professional to the company's management, and one that is capable of advancing the Company's Gold Basin project and furthering the company's business interests generally," he said.
The company also said that all issues among the board of directors of the company have been amicably resolved and the board is aligned on the future direction of the company.

“This resolution allows all of us to avoid unnecessary distraction and the potential expense of a prolonged conflict, and, importantly, to focus on activities that bring value to shareholders through rapidly advancing the company’s exciting Gold Basin oxide gold project in Arizona, USA,” commented Straw.
Additionally, the company said its rescheduled meeting of shareholders will be held on January 12, 2023, in Vancouver, British Columbia.
The record date for the shareholders entitled to vote at the AGM will continue to be November 14, 2022, Gold Basin said.
Gold Basin Resources is engaged in the business of mineral exploration and the acquisition of mineral property assets in North America, including the Gold Basin Property located in the Gold Basin Mining District, Mohave County, Arizona, which comprises five mineral rights and 294 unpatented mining claims totalling 30.8 square kilometres.
