Hikma Pharmaceuticals PLC (LSE:HIK, OTC:HKMPF) said it has launched an authorised generic version of Jazz Pharmaceuticals' Xyrem (sodium oxybate) oral solution CIII in the US.
Sodium Oxybate oral solution, 0.5 g/mL is a prescription medicine used to treat people with narcolepsy for symptoms of sudden onset of weak or paralyzed muscles (cataplexy) and excessive daytime sleepiness (EDS), the multinational pharmaceutical company noted.

Hikma will have 180 days of marketing exclusivity for its generic product in the US. Jazz Pharmaceuticals reported net sales for Xyrem of US$1.3bn in 2021.
Hikma shares advanced 4.67% to 1,624.50p in early trade on Tuesday.
