Brookside Energy prepares Wolf Pack Well in Anadarko Basin for completion operations

Brookside Energy Ltd (ASX:BRK) is preparing for completion operations at the high-impact Wolf Pack 36-25-1S-4W SXH 2 Well in the SWISH Area of Interest (AOI) in Oklahoma’s world-class Anadarko Basin.

The well successfully reached TD (total measured depth) of around 17,260 feet, with extensive shows of oil and gas observed as drilling continued to TD.

Wolf Pack, which is the first part of the company’s Phase Two development drilling program, is now being prepped for the commencement of completion operations as operations proceed on schedule, safely and without incident.

Haliburton appointed

Haliburton, a tier-one North American oilfield services company, has been appointed as the lead contractor for completion operations on the Wolf Pack Well.

Brookside managing director David Prentice said: “We are incredibly pleased to have secured the services of a Haliburton spread to run completion operations on the Wolf Pack Well.

“On track for record”

“The team is moving very quickly to prepare the well for the commencement of completion operations as we move forward in the schedule and look to be on track to set a record for the company in terms of days from spud to first sales.”

Haliburton is moving equipment and personnel to the location in Stephens County ahead of the start of completion operations next week.

Preparations for completion

At the well site, Brookside and US operating subsidiary Black Mesa Energy, LLC continue to prepare the well for completion and the commencement of completion operations.

“We are looking forward to providing further updates on the next phase of operations and ultimately production and sales over the coming weeks,” Prentice added.

About Wolf Pack

Wolf Pack Well is being drilled by Latshaw Rig 12 as a mid-length horizontal well targeting the Sycamore Formation at an average depth of around 9,750 feet.

It was drilled to a total measured depth of about 17,260 feet, with around 7,500 feet of lateral section drilled in the Sycamore that was cased with production tubing to be perforated and treated to allow production of oil and rich gas.

The Phase Two program follows a successful first phase that saw three production wells drilled in the SWISH AOI.
