Empower Clinics Inc, one of the largest operators of medical health and wellness centers in the US, revealed that it had appointed Zeifmans LLP as its new auditor from December 20, 2022, to strengthen its accounting and financial controls.
The Vancouver-based integrated healthcare company also announced the change of its year end from December 31 to March 31.
Zeifmans replaces MNP LLP as Empower's auditor. The company thanked MNP for its services. Meanwhile, the change in auditor has been approved by Empower’s audit committee and the board. According to the company, there were “no modified opinions” expressed in Zeifmans' report on any of the company's financial statements.
"These are important milestones for our company, that are intended to ensure we improve our accounting, audit and financial controls going forward," Empower Clinics CEO Steven McAuley said in a statement.
"Zeifmans have decades of technical accounting and audit experience, and came with tremendous trade references from other issuers in Canada," he added.
Empower has a growing presence in the US and Canada with multi-disciplinary clinics, an at-home medical testing device company and advanced medical diagnostics laboratories.
