The FTSE 100 has recovered its early losses this morning in a quiet market, reaching the same 7,360 points recorded at yesterday’s close.
In big caps, TSB has been slapped with a £48.6mln fine by for an IT meltdown back in 2018, while distribution and outsourcing giant Bunzl has announced a rejig of its portfolio. The £9bn company has sold off its UK healthcare division and bought four new businesses from various sectors around the world.
Over in the US, Twitter users voted for Elon Musk to step down from his role as boss of the social media company. He had already suggested back in November that he was looking to transition out of the role “over time”. And it has now been confirmed that former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried will be extradited to the US to face fraud charges.
Finally in small caps, shares in pharmaceutical development company Nuformix have risen this morning on news that its NXP4 programme is exceeding the company’s expectations.
