Waterloo Brewing stock surges on takeover deal plus more daily small cap movers

Some investors raised a glass to Carlsberg Group’s pending acquisition of Waterloo Brewing Ltd Thursday plus other big percentage movers on news from the small and micro cap space

4:05pm: IMV, Québec Nickel shares add to gains late day

Waterloo Brewing closed up 18% at $3.95, while IMV soared 69% to $4.97, Mammoth Resources finished 60% higher to $0.04, and Québec Nickel ended up 14% at $0.20.

12:10pm: Waterloo Brewing, IMV shares advance sharply

Waterloo Brewing Ltd (TSX:WBR) shares jumped 18% to $3.94 on Thursday after Ontario's largest Canadian-owned brewery announced that it has agreed to be acquired by the Carlsberg Group for C$4 per share in cash, or a total equity value of about C$144 million.

As well, shares of IMV Inc (TSX:IMV) gained 10% to $3.25 as the clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company revealed positive initial patient data from the VITALIZE Phase 2B trial evaluating its lead DPX product, MVP-S, in combination with pembrolizumab in patients with relapsed, refractory Diffuse Large B Cell Lymphoma who received at least three previous lines of treatment.

Mammoth Resources Corp (TSXV:MTH), meanwhile, reported results from the final six drill holes of the 27-hole diamond drilling program at its 100% owned Tenoriba gold-silver property in Mexico, which included 39.0 metres (m) grading 1.2 grams per tonne (g/t) gold equivalent. Mammoth stock moved up 60% to $0.04 following the announcement.

And, Québec Nickel Corp (CSE:QNI) shares climbed 11% to $0.195 after the mineral exploration company announced additional assay results from drilling completed at its Ducros nickel-copper-cobalt-platinum group elements-gold project in Québec, which included 1.1% nickel, 1.2% copper, 364 parts per million cobalt, and 2.7 g/t platinum-palladium-gold over 4.8m.
