GSK to move global headquarters back to central London

GSK PLC (LSE:GSK, NYSE:GSK) is moving its global headquarters back to central London in 2024 in a major boost for the West End economy relocating from its current base in Brentford where it has been since 2002.

The 10 storey building (currently known as Earnshaw) is on the corner New Oxford Street and Earnshaw Street and is scheduled for completion next year.

The new global headquarters will be the base for around 3,000 people including the GSK leadership team under CEO, Emma Walmsley.

She said: “Our new headquarters will provide a fantastic new focal point for GSK people to meet, collaborate and ultimately deliver solutions for the urgent healthcare challenges facing the world.”

The central London location also offers easy access to GSK’s global R&D hub in Stevenage and marks a return for the pharma giant to central London, from where the company can trace its origins to the Plough Court Pharmacy, which was established in the City of London, in 1715.
