Kurt Geiger see sales double as luxury goods industry continues to boom

Kurt Geiger, the fashion house owned by private equity group Cinven, has seen sales double over the festive period so far compared to in 2021.

The luxury fashion brand is expecting handbag sales in December to total more 100,000, with average transaction value for its range of festive gifts climbing by 17%.

The British business added that higher priced ‘embellished’ products hit record sales, with ‘gifting’ sales up 101% on last year.

US sales has been especially strong said creative director Rebecca Farrar-Hockley.

“We have had an incredible year of growth at Kurt Geiger, with success in the US, where our gifting sales are up almost 240% on last year” she said.

Luxury fashion continues to succeed despite the cost-of-living crisis, last week Louis Vuitton chief Bernard Arnault momentarily became the world’s richest man.

The apparel, fashion and luxury industry has outperformed industries like tech and retail over the last decade providing strong shareholder returns as Chinese demand has recovered.
