FTSE 100 hits three-week lows - Market Report

The FTSE 100 hit three-week lows of around 7,450 points at the open. Actual attendance in the City today is likely to be pretty low as people struggle to make it following heavy snowfall, but there’s still plenty of news out there.

The ONS revealed this morning that the UK economy defied expectations by actually growing in October, increasing by half a percent.

But house prices continue to slide, with the average asking price dropping 2.1% last month, according to data from Rightmove.

The UK court of appeal has determined that strike action by airline staff does not constitute an 'extraordinary circumstance' and, as such, affected passengers should be entitled to compensation.

And in small caps, Poolbeg Pharma said it completed the first clinical trial for its new flu jab with no severe adverse reactions reported.

Today’s market report was written by Jai Singh and presented by Thomas Warner.
