Helix BioPharma Corp. (TSX:HBP) has announced the appointment of Jacek Antas as the company’s chief executive officer (CEO) to replace Artur Gabor with immediate effect.
It said Gabor has resigned as the CEO and a director of the board of the company.
The company also announced the appointment of Malgorzata Irena Laube to its board as a director with immediate effect.
“On behalf of Helix, I would like to thank Mr Gabor for his service as the CEO and welcome Mr Antas to the new role,” said Jerzy Leszczyński, chair of the company's Audit Committee in a statement.
“We are also delighted that Ms Laube has agreed to join the board of the company. The board and management team look forward to working with Mr Antas and Ms Laube in their new roles," he added.

Helix noted that Antas has been on the board of the company since April 2022 and has more than 25 years of experience in the financial services industry holding various positions in sales and consulting. He obtained a master’s degree from the Warsaw School of Economics and has served as a board member of various companies throughout his career.
Meanwhile, it added, Laube has over 19 years of experience in nuclear medicine. In her last role with Alberta Health Services, she was the Department Supervisor, Nuclear Medicine at Royal Alexandra Hospital. Laube, who has a MSc degree in Environmental Engineering from the Warsaw University of Technology, is based in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
