Greatland Gold reports positive drilling update for Havieron gold-copper joint venture

Greatland Gold PLC (AIM:GGP, OTC:GRLGF) said drilling at the Havieron gold-copper project in Western Australia has continued to confirm and expand the high-grade extensions to known mineralisation in the Eastern Breccia and the Northern Breccia zones.

Work on the exploration decline reached 1,000 metres in November as an improvement in ground conditions helped moved the work back on schedule.

“Havieron achieved a significant milestone with the exploration decline development extending beyond the 1,000-metre mark,” said Greatland managing director Shaun Day in a statement. “The accelerated rate of advancement reflects the improved ground conditions.”

"The last twelve months of impressive growth drilling results supports the expectation for Havieron to deliver an expanded mineral resource estimate," he added.

Six drill rigs are on site ahead of a scheduled wind down over the summer wet season.

Significant new drilling results include 82 metres (m) at 2.1 grammes a tonne (g/t) gold and 0.25% copper at Eastern Breccia and 84m at 3.2 g/t gold and 0.14% copper at Northern Breccia.

Havieron is operated by Newcrest Mining Limited (ASX:NCM) under a joint venture agreement. Newcrest has a 70% interest and Greatland 30%.
