C29 Metals Ltd (ASX:C29) has retained two key consultants who provide lithium, geological and in-country expertise as the company advances lithium brine projects in the Argentine section of South America’s prolific Lithium Triangle.
Phillip Thomas has been retained as a technical adviser for the Pocitos 7 and Pocitos 9 brine projects while Kerry Griffin has been retained as a consultant geologist to assist C29 as it proceeds with drilling in Argentina.
The company has also strengthened its board with the appointment of Jeremy King in an executive capacity.
Lithium brine specialist
Phillip Thomas is a highly specialised lithium brine geologist with significant experience in salar exploration, hydrology, resource estimation and production chemical engineering.
In particular, he has a deep experience of Argentina salar brine geology and hydrology having spent more than 20 years working in Argentina on the Pocitos, Guayatayoc, Salinas Grandes, Pozuelos, Rincon and Incahuasi salars.
Thomas has also agreed to act as the company’s competent person in respect of the Argentina projects as well as to compile a JORC-compliant resource estimate (as required) and to assist with project logistics, required local regulatory approvals and general drilling know-how in Argentina salars.
Importantly, he will also oversee the testing of recovered brines for lithium recovery utilising the Ekosolve™ direct lithium extraction technology.
Senior geologist
C29 has also retained Kerry Griffin as a consultant geologist.
Fluent in Spanish, Griffin is a senior geologist with significant experience in South America having spent a substantial amount of his career managing and developing/operating projects in Peru, Ecuador, Chile, Brazil and Argentina.
In Argentina specifically, he has undertaken a significant amount of lithium exploration in San Luis, Catamarca and Salta.
Board appointment
New board member Jeremy King has a wealth of experience managing ASX growth companies with an emphasis on resources and technology businesses.
King has significant experience around capital raisings and international corporate transactions.
