Tissue Regenix extends VNEW allograft range to support SUI treatments

Tissue Regenix Group PLC (AIM:TRX, OTC:TSSNF) said it has launched a VNEW allograft as a line extension to its dCELL division, as part of a long-running partnership agreement.

Extending a range of VNEW products that was launched in September 2021, the new VNEW Fascia Lata is a soft tissue allograft used to support weakened tissue that can result in stress urinary incontinence (SUI), which affects around a third of adult women at some point in their lives. Over a quarter of a million women undergo surgery annually in the US for SUI.

Under the expanded agreement with licence owner ARMS, the fascia lata product will also be distributed to surgeons throughout the US for use in urology and gynaecology procedures.

Decellularization technology, under the dCELL brand, removes DNA and other cellular material from animal and human soft tissue, leaving an acellular tissue scaffold which is not rejected by the patient's body and can then be used to repair diseased or worn-out body parts, with current applications addressing critical clinical needs in sports medicine, urogynaecology and wound care.

The dCELL business also made allograft products under the DermaPure brand and xenografts under the OrthoPure XT soft tissue products to promote healing and regeneration.

VNEW pelvic health needs products are made under licence for ARMS Medical, which owns the brand and agreed an exclusive multi-year exclusive distribution agreement in 2018.

Tissue Regenix chief executive Daniel Lee said: “The diversification of our product portfolio will contribute to our market penetration, as well as provide a significant improvement to quality of life for those patients that receive these allografts.”
