4. Cineworld leaps on report of possible bid from Vue
Shares in Cineworld jumped on the news rising 11% to 5.10p. The embattled cinema chain recently agreed a bankruptcy settlement with its landlords and lenders after filing for bankruptcy protection in Texas in September.
5. John Lewis teams up with Abrdn to build 1000 houses
John Lewis Partnership has signed up Abrdn PLC (LSE:ABDN) as an investment partner in its plans to enter London’s property market, with the pair agreeing a £500mln joint venture to build 1,000 new homes.
