Below are some of the main new-driven share price movements at 4pm.

RISERS

Mosman Oil (LON:MSMN) up 31%. The New Zealand-based oil and gas group said it is in advanced talks to make a “transformational” acquisition that will provide immediate production and cash flow. It has been given a period of exclusivity by the seller.

Mwana Africa (LON:MWA) up 14.6%. Shares rose today after it appointed Grant Thornton as its nominated advisor and Cantor Fitzgerald as its corporate broker.

Vodafone (LON:VOD) up 3.4%. Revenue fell 1.5% to just shy of £6bn but European service revenue continued to recover as prices stabilised and commercial performance improved.

FALLERS

Gaming Realms (LON:GMR) down 14.5%. The company issued 50mln shares at 25p a pop to fund the acquisition of assets from RealNetworks.

SnackTime (LON:SNAK) down 13.5%. The vending machine company that the profit estimate of £550,000 EBITDA could be lower by up to £270,000 due to an increase in provisions.

Ladbrokes (LON:LAD) down 4.1%. The bookmaker confirmed plans for a merger with rival Gala Coral to create a business worth £2.3bn. It will have net revenue of £2.1bn and £392mln of pre-tax earnings before interest, depreciation and amortisation.


Below are some of the main new-driven share price movements at 1pm.

RISERS

Global Petroleum (LON:GBP) up 12.5%. The oil and gas explorer is resducing its costs to reflect the lower oil price and said the low price makes it “more likely that we will be able to make an acquisition.”

Roxi Petroleum (LON:RXP) up 8.9%. The company will no longer have to pay two groups future royalty payments from its flagship Kazakhstan asset after it issued them shares worth 5% of the company.

Beazley (LON:BEZ) up 4.1%. The insurance group reported a 16.3% increase in first-half pre-tax profit to US$154.5mln, helped by strong growth in the U.S.

FALLERS

Ascent Resources (LON:AST) down 23%. The company said “there has been at least one objection to the award of the Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control ("IPPC") Permit from the Environmental Agency in Slovenia.”

Audioboom (LON:BOOM) down 9%. Revenues almost doubled to £46,000 (£24,000) but losses widened to £2.9mln (£0.75mln) as it continues to boost users and content partners.

AG Barr (LON:BAG) down 3.3%. Bad weather, increased competition and a lack of promotions hit sales at the Irn-bru maker, with first half revenue down 5%.

RISERS

Greka Engineering (LON:GEL) up 39.1%.The first half of 2015 was in line with expectations after it increased the amount of gas processed and sold by more than 15%.

Beximco (LON:BXP) up 11.3%. The Bangladesh pharma company saw sales rise 17.4% and profits climbed 39.3% in the first half of the year. It is on course to meet full year expectations.

Ashley House (LON:ASH) up 7.1%. The company received a proposal from a “significant, well-funded business” to acquire its interest in the NHS LIFT joint ventures. The company is looking to secure funding for its growing Extra Care properties pipeline.

FALLERS

Aggreko (LON:AGK) down 15.1%. Challenges in Yemen and a further slowdown in the oil and gas sector means the company will miss expectations.

Totally (LON:TLY) down 12.7%. Shares gave back some of yesterday’s 50% gains when the company said it hopes to move into the black by the end of the year.

Lonmin (LON:LMI) down 7.4%. Slumping commodity prices mean the company is to axe 6,000 jobs in an attempt to cut costs. The company said that at the current platinum price, it is loss making. Platinum is at a 6 and a half year low of US$976.
