Asterion will be developing the largest and most sophisticated state-of-the-art medicinal cannabis cultivation, research and manufacturing facility in the developed world. The 75-hectare site will consist of ~40 hectares of greenhouse cultivation, a research center and onsite GMP manufacturing for the company’s end product. The facility will be powered by renewable energy.

The greenhouses will be built out in three phases: 1st Phase – 10 ha; 2nd Phase – 10 ha; and 3rd Phase – 20 ha with the facility’s expected outputs, upon completion, to exceed 500,000 kg per annum.

Operations
Operations will be developed under the guidance of one of Canada’s most experienced cannabis operations and start-up team, White Sheep Corp.

White Sheep has extensive performance history operating, building and licensing for cultivation and sales under the strict ACMPR (Access to Cannabis for Medical Purposes Regulations) and MMPR (Marihuana for Medical Purposes Regulations) government regulations in Canada. They led the SOP/QA process for four cultivation and three sales licensees and have since taken three companies public.

The company also designed, built and led the operations of what was at the time, the world’s largest federally legal cannabis production facility in suburban Toronto. Notably, White Sheep managed the first legal international transfer (import) of cannabis genetics and also successfully undertook the first cannabis exports out of Canada.

Utilizing Renewable Energy
Asterion is committed to the use of 100% renewable energy and reducing its’ carbon footprint at every opportunity. Advantages to the purpose building include design and engineering efforts to mitigate environmental impacts, such as efficient use of space and non-toxic processing. Providing a minimized carbon footprint and sustainable, environmentally friendly operations while delivering higher profit margins and quality.

The company will be developing its facility near the city of Toowoomba, the regional hub, of the Darling Downs district in South East Queensland known as the ‘Garden City’.

The 75 hectare site is in close proximity to Toowoomba’s Wellcamp Airport, which provides access to international routes and markets. The zoning for the development is deemed code accessible and there is water access for the facility. Toowoomba’s economic role as a regional capital city, agricultural hub, knowledge and research centre, and freight and lostistics hub provide enormous strengths and competitive advantages for Asterion.

The Toowoomba region is supported by the Queensland State Government to expand as a commercial and agricultural hub and encompasses a substantial employment catchment area with highly trained and trainable employees familiar with the agricultural and horticultural sector.

Stephen Van Deventer

Mr. Van Deventer is an experienced business person and corporate director. Specializing in international corporate relations and business development over the last twenty-five years, Mr. Van Deventer has focused on launching small to medium-sized companies into the public markets in Canada, the United States and Europe. He spearheaded the financing and RTO of Aurora Cannabis, after helping to create its structure and provide strategic direction. In addition raised financing for Hempco, one of the world’s largest industrial producers of hemp and hemp products, and coordinated Aurora's strategic investment in Hempco.

Paget Hargreaves MBA, GCM

Mr. Hargreaves has over 30 years’ experience in business development, investment, financing and management across the property, infrastructure, energy and resource sectors in the UK, Asia and Australia. Over the past 10 years Paget has focused in particular on development and investment in natural resources and renewable energy sector. A founder and Board director of Industrial Energy Systems (Australia) Pty Ltd, a company that provides BOO/T leasing solutions to companies for solar thermal energy systems. Previously a Board director at Sundrop Farms, an innovative company operating in the food, energy and water space. Mr. Hargreaves helped develop and establish the world’s first greenhouse facility utilizing the sun’s solar thermal properties to desalinate sea water and produce food that is grown all year round with no pesticides or carbon foot print.

Hamish Sutherland MBA
CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER (CANADA & AUSTRALIA)

Mr. Sutherland is the CEO of White Sheep Corp, Over the last three decades, has overseen hundreds of millions of investor dollars and built start-ups on three continents. One of a rare few who has hands-on experience in developing a successful cannabis company, passing more than 50 inspections by Health Canada. The founding COO for Bedrocan Canada he delivered over $750 Million in returns for shareholders. Mr. Sutherland also managed the first legal transfer of live cannabis plant material from Holland to Canada, as well as the “greenfield” construction and commissioning of Bedrocan’s 52,000 sq.ft. state-of-the-art automated facility. As the former Investment Commissioner, for the Australian Trade Commission, Mr. Sutherland was responsible for establishing 17 offshore companies entering North America for the first time and guiding $100 million in direct investment and acquisitions between Australian and Canadian companies.

Ms. Rajan is a senior financial executive with over 20 years of experience, leading the financial discipline for successful businesses in both private and public sectors. Ms. Rajan has a track record of providing leadership for strategic value creation and continuous improvement, as well as, providing effective direction to organisations on issues relating to corporate governance, financial oversight and risk management. One of her leadership roles was that of Director of Finance at Canada Line Rapid Transit Inc., which planned and constructed a $2 billion rapid transit system in metro-Vancouver, on time and within budget.

Kimberly Van Deventer

Ms. Van Deventer is an entrepreneur with a successful track record of accomplishment that she brings to Asterion. Motivated and determined, she was ranked the third highest grossing female business owner in BC, Canada in 2009. Ms. Van Deventer is a driving force behind the business and is unwavering in her commitment to bringing awareness of health and disease prevention to people everywhere. Ms. Van Deventer partnered with Mr. Van Deventer in the financing and RTO of Aurora Cannabis as well as the financing for Hempco, one of the world’s largest industrial producers of hemp and hemp products and coordinated Aurora’s strategic investment in Hempco.

John Wagner
STRATEGIC ADVISOR TO THE CEO & BOARD (AUSTRALIA)

Mr. Wagner is one of the co-founders of Wagners and has been involved in the business since its inception bringing over 30 years’ experience in the construction materials industry. He has been instrumental in developing Wagners into one of the leading construction materials producers in South East Queensland, Australia. Mr. Wagner is also the inaugural Chair of Darling Downs Tourism and was the inaugural chair of the Toowoomba and Surat Basin Enterprises. John Wagner is known for the Toowoomba Wellcamp Airport, the first public airport to be constructed in Australia in 50 years and also the first privately funded. The airport was completed in less than 20 months and is a thriving regional and interstate passenger facility with major airlines and is a hub for the export of local produce to China via a weekly 747 service.

Robert Hall

Mr. Robert Hall has over 20 years of management experience in both the private and public sector. Mr. Looi is also a serial entrepreneur and has created new companies in both Canada and China, ranging from soil-less food production, to pharmacy patient management systems and video game art sourcing . He is also a recipient of a Parliamentary Award for his experimental urban farm, UpStream Aquaponics.
