Asiamet Resources Limited (the "Company") is committed to maintaining the highest standards in corporate governance throughout its operations and to ensure all of its practices are conducted transparently, ethically and efficiently.  The Company believes scrutinising all aspects of its business and reflecting, analysing and improving its procedures will result in the continued success of the Company and improve shareholder value.  Therefore, and in accordance with the AIM Rules for Companies (March 2018), the Company has chosen to formalise its governance policies by complying with the UK's Quoted Companies Alliance Corporate Governance Code (the "QCA Code"). Throughout the past year, the Company has complied with the QCA Code. In an effort to uphold robust systems of corporate governance, the Company periodically reviews its governance charter to ensure a high level of corporate governance is maintained at all times. Following reviews conducted over the past 12 months, there have been no governance issues identified.

Accordingly, the Company has established specific committees and implemented certain policies, to ensure that:

  • it is led by an effective Board which is collectively responsible for the long-term success of the Company;
  • the Board and the committees have the appropriate balance of skills, experience, independence and knowledge of the Company to enable them to discharge their respective duties and responsibilities effectively;
  • the Board establish a formal and transparent arrangement for considering how it applies the corporate reporting, risk management and internal control principles and for maintaining an appropriate relationship with the Company's auditors; and
  • there is a dialogue with shareholders based on the mutual understanding of objectives.

In addition, the Company has adopted a comprehensive suite of policies including:

  • anti-corruption and bribery;
  • whistleblowing;
  • health and safety;
  • environment and community;
  • IT, communications and systems; and
  • social media

so that all aspects of the Company are run in a robust and responsible way.

Tony Manini
Director & Exective Chairman

Tony Manini has over 25 years of global resource industry experience across a diverse range of commodities in over 20 countries. His experience includes 14 years with Rio Tinto Limited and 8 years with Oxiana Limited (now OZ Minerals Limited) covering various technical, commercial, senior management and executive roles in exploration, project evaluation, project development and business development.

As a founding member of the Oxiana Limited executive team he was responsible for establishing and managing the company's highly successful exploration and resources group and closely involved in the discovery and/or acquisition and development of Oxiana Limited/OZ Minerals Limited's four operating mines.

Mr Manini is a founder of Tigers Realm Minerals and Tigers Realm Coal and has been Managing Director of Tigers Realm Metals Pty Ltd since its inception. He is also Executive Chairman of Tigers Realm Coal Ltd.

Mr Manini holds an Honours Degree in Geology and is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and the Society of Economic Geologists. Resident of Australia. Born 1963.

Peter Bird
Director and Chief Executive Officer

Peter Bird is an experienced, well known and highly respected mining industry executive. His extensive experience covers technical, management, investment and human resource positions with major companies such as Western Mining Corporation, Merrill Lynch Equities and Newmont Mining. He has held senior executive roles at Newcrest Mining and Normandy Mining, two of Australia's largest gold producers with substantial operations in Indonesia.

Peter was most recently the Managing Director of Heemskirk Consolidated Limited, an Australian listed producer of industrial minerals in Canada and previously operator of the Pajingo gold mine in Australia and the Los Santos tungsten mine in Spain.

Over the past three years he has led the feasibility, financing and development of an industrial minerals project in Canada. Mr. Bird has a Bachelor of Applied Science in Geology from LaTrobe University and is a member of the Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Born 1963.

James Deo
Chief Financial Officer

James is a senior mining and resources industry executive whose broad experience covers roles in finance, commercial, strategy, investor relations, sales and marketing, business development and business improvement gained over two decades working for a number of global mining businesses in Australia and the developing economies of Asia, Africa and the Americas.

Most recently James has consulted to Australia's largest gold miner, Newcrest Mining, immediately prior to which he worked with OZ Minerals for 10 years in senior leadership positions including General Manager Commercial and Strategy, Head of Business Development, Head of Investor Relations, General Manager Sales and Marketing and General Manager Planning, Strategy and Development. He has held various senior finance and commercial roles with Oxiana Limited, BHP Billiton, Exxon Mobil and Rio Tinto. James holds a B.Bus(Acc) from Deakin University and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia.


Peter Pollard

Peter Pollard is a consulting economic geologist with more than 20 years experience. He holds a PhD from James Cook University, Australia and is a Member of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and a Fellow of the Society of Economic Geologists. Dr Pollard has consulted widely on porphyry copper-gold and iron oxide copper-gold deposits. He has worked on some of the world's major porphyry copper-gold deposits including Grasberg (Indonesia), Escondida Norte (Chile) and Oyu Tolgoi (Mongolia). In addition, he has consulted on porphyry exploration programs in Australia, China, Indonesia, Iran, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Peru, U.S.A. and Vietnam. Born 1952.

Faldi Imail

Faldi Ismail has significant experience working as a corporate advisor specialising in the restructure and recapitalisation of a wide range of ASX-listed companies.Mr Ismail has many years of investment banking experience covering a wide range of sectors, with a specific focus on the resources sector. Mr Ismail is currently a director of several ASX-Listed companies. Until January 12, 2015 Mr Ismail was the Deputy Chairman and CEO of the Company. Resident of Australia. Born 1976.

Dominic Heaton

Dominic Heaton has over 27 years of global resource industry experience across a diverse range of commodities. For seven years from 2010, Mr Heaton was the inaugural Chief Executive Officer of Masan Resources and led the development and operations of the Nui Phao tungsten – polymetallic project in Vietnam. Earlier in his career, he served a variety of management roles at Aurora Gold, Oxiana, OZ Minerals and at MMG where he was General Manager of the 60,000tpa Sepon SX-EW copper project in Laos and as General Manager of Operations of Martabe gold mine in Indonesia.

Mr Heaton holds a Bachelor of Science from James Cook University, Townsville, Australia and a Post Graduate Diploma in Mineral Processing Technology from La Trobe University, Australia. He has also completed an Advanced Management Program with the Mt Eliza arm of the Melbourne Business School. Mr Heaton is a member of Australian Institute of Mining & Metallurgy and Australian Institute of Company Directors.
